SACRAMENTO and REDDING 2022 OPEN DOORS

This year the Robert T. Matsui Federal Courthouse hosted Open Doors to Federal Courts virtually for C.K. McClatchy High School and in Redding for Foothill High School.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Students held a mock trial with judges from the federal bench. Assisted by federal attorneys from the U.S. Attorney's Office and the Federal Defender's Office, students litigated a criminal case involving a student alledgely cheating on a college entrance exam and charged with mail fraud.

 

 

 

 

 

Following the students deliberations and rendering their verdicts, the students heard from a few career speakers. 

 

 

 

 

 

BAKERSFIELD 2022 OPEN DOORS

Bakersfield held Open Doors this year at the Board of Supervisors in the Kern County Administrative Building. Students served as the jury for a mock trial involving a suspect pointing a laser pointer at an aircraft. Students voted guilty or not guilty on the smart phones at the end of the procedings. Participating students were from Centennial High School, CSUB, Frontier High School, Highland High School, Independence High School, Regional Occupational Center, and South High School.
