Motion dates are subject to change without prior notice. Please verify last minute changes with the Courtroom Deputy.
Judge Mueller does not issue tentative rulings. In some instances she may also alert counsel in a minute order to questions they should be prepared to address at oral argument.
Criminal Law and Motion Calendar is held in-person on Tuesday at 10:00 AM, in Courtroom 3, 15th floor. The times for particular matters are typically adjusted no later than 3:00 PM the business day before the hearing. It is counsel's responsibility to check the final calendar and appear at the confirmed time.
Available Dates:
November 19, 2024
December 10 & 17, 2024
January 14, 21, & 28, 2025
February 4, 11, 18 & 25, 2025
March 4, 11, 18 & 25, 2025
Civil Law and Motion Calendar is held in-person on designated Thursdays at 10:00 AM, in Courtroom 3, 15th floor. The judge may special set certain motions on different days to provide all parties time for argument.
Available Dates:
*November 21, 2024 at 1:30 pm
*December 11, 2024 at 2:30 pm
January 23, 2025
February 13, 2025
March 6 & 27, 2025
*Calendar will be held at time indicated on this date.
Motion dates are not reserved. Moving papers shall be filed in accordance with the Local and Federal Rules. As set forth in the court's Order Setting Status (Pretrial Scheduling) Conference, any briefs or other papers filed prior to the issuance of the Rule 16 Order, the court's standing orders and case specific orders shall not exceed twenty (20) pages. The court also places a page limit for motions of twenty (20) pages on all initial moving papers, twenty (20) pages on oppositions, and ten (10) pages for replies. The parties are not to file multiple or supplemental briefs to circumvent this rule. The parties shall notify the court if they are continuing to work toward settlement after a motion has been submitted.
The court strongly prefers in-person oral argument for civil law and motion practice. Although virtual appearance is discouraged, the court will consider requests for virtual appearance if supported by a verified showing of hardship. Any request to appear remotely at a hearing on a noticed motion under Local Rule 174 must be in writing, must either be stipulated to or explain the opposing side's position and must be filed no later than seven calendar days in advance of the noticed hearing date. There will be no hybrid appearances; all persons appearing in a single case must appear by the same format.
Initial Scheduling Conferences are held via videoconference on designated Thursdays at 2:30 PM. Because the format of these hearings is subject to change depending on the circumstances of each case, check the courtroom calendar to confirm the format of the hearing.
Settlement conferences are scheduled at times mutually convenient to the court, counsel and the parties.
